Biography
After completing her studies at the Julliard School of Drama, actress and singer Anne Kerry Ford received substantial critical recognition. After departing Julliard, she honed her craft performing in theaters nationwide until securing her initial starring part on Broadway in 1982's production of the musical Annie. Ford also took on screen roles throughout the 1980s, including appearances in the films Lovesick and Clean And Sober, along with a part on the daytime soap Days Of Our Lives. The success of her first cabaret performance in 1996 prompted Ford to shift her focus toward singing. This led to her first album, In The Nest Of The Moon, featuring a selection of standards and produced by her spouse, the acclaimed guitarist Robben Ford. The couple additionally established their own record label, Illyria Records. She introduced a cabaret show honoring the compositions of Stephen Sondheim and Oscar Hammerstein in 1997, inspiring the creation of her recording Something Wonderful. Her husband again handled production duties for Something Wonderful, this time with John Boswell serving as co-producer, resulting in further favorable reviews for Ford. In 2000, the West German Radio Orchestra requested her participation in a Kurt Weill tribute concert that featured Robben as well and was conducted musically by Roger Kellaway.
