Biography
Antoinette Montague, a jazz and blues vocalist, entered the world in Newark, NJ, and spent her early years there. After completing her studies at Seton Hall University with an English degree in hand, she relocated to Fairfield, CT, where she rose to the role of vice president of human resources for Boardroom, Inc., based in Stamford, CT. Those positions marked her primary professional path outside of music. Concurrently she sustained a semi-professional singing practice that began with gospel and R&B ensembles following her college years and later shifted, under the guidance of blues singer Carrie Smith, toward blues and jazz. Serving as vice president of the International Women in Jazz organization, she appeared frequently alongside jazz ensembles throughout the New York metropolitan region. In time she issued her debut album, Pretty Blues, which Consolidated Artists Productions brought out in 2006.
