Biography
Around 1717 Teixeira commenced his studies in Rome, remaining there until 1728. After returning to Lisbon he joined the musical staff of the Lisbon Patriarchal Cathedral. His output includes the cantata “Gli sposi fortunati,” a twenty-voice “Te Deum,” two masses, assorted psalms and Lamentations, and an a cappella motet written with instrumental accompaniment.
