Biography
Originating in Lecce, Italy, Aram Quartet is a pop vocal quartet formed by four young men—Antonio Maggio, Raffaele Simone, Antonio Ancora, and Michele Cortese. The group gained national attention after auditioning for the first season of X Factor, advancing through the competition and securing first place over runner-up Giusy at the end of twelve weeks of live broadcasts. Their victory prompted a recording agreement with Sony BMG, which led directly to the 2008 release of their debut album Chiaramente. The set contained covers of “Pinball Wizard” by the Who, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, and “Walk on the Wild Side” by Lou Reed, reached the Italian Top Ten, and yielded the hit singles “Chi (Who)” and “Per Elisa.”
