Arre! Arre! burst onto the scene from Sweden in 2015, unleashing their debut A.T.T.A.C.K., a fiery blend of feminist surf punk and garage rock tinged with riot grrrl energy that leaned into pop-punk territory. Based in Malmo, the four-piece group used provocative themes around body image, gender identity, and resistance to authority in their lyrics, cementing their reputation as outspoken activists while their high-energy, unrestrained approach built a dedicated following. The quartet's second album, Tell Me All About Them from 2019, earned Rock Album of the Year honors at the P3 Guld Awards in Sweden. Building on that momentum, they issued the sexually charged EP Heavy Breathing in 2020, highlighted by the bold track "Me & My Fat Ass Friends," before signing with PNKSLM Recordings in 2021 to begin crafting their next full-length record. Issued the following year, We Ride the Universe expands their sonic palette with elements like harmonies reminiscent of ABBA, propulsive post-punk rhythms, nostalgic pop ballads, biker-punk edges, and gritty, danceable R&B grooves within their evolving and unique sound.
