Biography
Artanker Convoy blends rock, funk, and avant-garde jazz through its Brooklyn-based roster of Artanker on drums, Joe Fiorentino on bass, Chris Seeds on keyboard, Art Lavis on guitar, Jon Warren on percussion, and Jake Oas on sax. The group’s roots extend to the early ’90s, when Artanker collaborated with future LCD Soundsystem member James Murphy in the short-lived Jinx Clambake Explosion; Fiorentino came aboard shortly before that project dissolved. Supported by the Social Registry, the ensemble issued Mature Fantasy in early 2005 and Cozy Endings in mid-2007.
