A Mississippi country blues guitarist and singer named Arthur Petties, whose surname sometimes appears as Pettis, stood out for the expressive range and versatility of his voice. His entire recorded legacy amounts to six sides, two of them cut on February 14, 1928, in Memphis, TN, for Victor Records, with the other four split evenly between sessions held in Chicago, IL, on July 25 and October 7, 1930, for Brunswick Records.
