Biography
French multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter Arthur Larregle first cultivated a garage rock approach steeped in the fuzzy textures and dramatic flair of 1960s pop while active in the group J.C. Satan. Under the solo alias Arthur Satan he later shifted that foundation toward a calmer, more inward direction in his own recordings. His debut solo album So Far So Good, issued in 2021, channeled the psychedelic craft and Baroque pop leanings of the Kinks, the Pretty Things, the Zombies, and comparable acts from the era.
The Bordeaux-based artist joined several bands during his late teens and early twenties, yet the 2010 launch of his garage rock outfit J.C. Satan established the Arthur Satan identity. While maintaining commitments to J.C. Satan, Larregle contributed to sessions for other acts and quietly shaped solo material that favored a milder psychedelia over the often abrasive and volatile energy of the full band. After years spent assembling intermittent demos, he delivered his first complete solo album, So Far So Good, through the Born Bad label in 2021. Although still anchored by rock guitars and drums, the pieces added piano, Mellotron, wistful vocal harmonies, and further chamber pop touches.
