Biography
Originating in Orange County, California, As Hope Dies formed during the members’ late teens and promptly launched into rehearsals and live appearances at multiple venues. Each musician already possessed five to ten years of experience, allowing the band to attract early notice from critics and record labels. Echoing the approach of Swedish death-metal groups like At The Gates and In Flames, As Hope Dies issued its first recording, Birthplace And Burial Site, on Revelation Records in May 2002. The group subsequently toured the West Coast extensively, sharing bills with Radiation 4, Further Seems Forever, and Curl Up And Die, among others, and also appeared at festivals such as Hellfest. ~ Jason MacNeil
