Biography
Emerging from Long Island, NY, the rock quartet As Tall as Lions came together in 2002 after its members had previously performed together in an earlier group called Sundaze. Daniel Nigro took vocals, guitar, and piano in the original configuration, which also included Saen Fitzgerald on guitar and Clifford Sarcona on drums. Once the band completed the Blood and Aphorisms EP, they quickly signed with Triple Crown Records and issued the Lafcadio LP in spring 2004, at which time longtime acquaintance Julio Tavarez joined on bass. Their self-titled album followed in August 2006 and led to shows with Sparta and Sound Team. Three years afterward, You Can't Take It with You arrived as the third album, with the group directing greater attention to dark and moody R&B-influenced songcraft.
