Cairo-born and now based in Montreal, Ash crafts expansive, melody-driven dance music that draws from both Egyptian and French roots. He entered the scene in 2016 via the relaxed midtempo instrumental “Mosaïque,” which quickly amassed millions of streams. Subsequent output included both wordless pieces and vocal collaborations, among them a 2018 reinterpretation of Moloko’s “Sing It Back” that marked one of several joint efforts with vocalist Naila. The EP About Life followed in 2022, while his first full-length album, Self-Discovery, surfaced in 2024.

Ash’s initial release, the summery and resort-oriented instrumental “Mosaïque,” achieved widespread streaming success. Another early highlight, the house cut “Gorgeous” featuring Naila, likewise drew heavy plays, prompting further partnerships with her as well as with Amelie Martinez and Philippine. The 2018 Naila tracks—an original titled “Give a Little” and the Moloko cover—rank among his most popular recordings, while a Martinez-assisted version of Alphaville’s “Big in Japan” and the solo numbers “Under” and “Keep Me” also appeared that year. In 2019 Ash issued “Worlds Apart,” “Dans la Peau” with Martinez, and “Beausoleil”; a live clip of “Mosaïque” staged before the Giza pyramids later that year spread rapidly online. Singles such as “Senses” and “Le Beirut” (with Samia) led into the 2022 EP About Life, which was followed before year’s end by “Historia de un Amor” featuring Martinez, “Amira” with Wegz, and “Souls.” The 2024 album Self-Discovery marked his debut long-form statement.
