Biography
Ashleigh Flynn, born in Kentucky and now based in Oregon, creates twangy songs steeped in Americana-tinged folk that echoes Devon Sproule and Gillian Welch. Home Perm Recordings issued her self-titled debut full-length in 1999. Across the next seven years she delivered two further albums, Chokecherry in 2002 and Sneakin' Out with Ashleigh Flynn in 2005. Live work filled the gaps between studio sessions, with appearances at Bumbershoot, SXSW, and Bonnaroo plus roughly a dozen regional folk festivals. She collected multiple songwriting awards in those years and shared West Coast bills with Nanci Griffith and Willy Porter. Early 2008 brought her fourth studio full-length, American Dream, to stores.
