Biography
The London outfit Atom Seed came together in 1989, consisting of vocalist Paul Cunningham, guitarist Simon James, bassist Chris Dale, and drummer Amir. They quickly climbed the ladder in the city's pub circuit before inking a deal with FM/Revolver Records. Under that agreement, the group laid down tracks for their first album, Get in Line, in 1990. London Records then acquired the rights for an American release in 1991, yet the record never gained traction as hoped and relations with the company remained unstable from the outset. Repeated rejections of new demo material followed, eroding the members' momentum and resolve as they found no path forward in their career and could not even stage live shows. Dropped from the label with no tangible results, the discouraged ensemble disbanded in April 1993.
