Biography
Atto Attie, a Los Angeles musician, serves as bassist in the goth pop outfit Darling Violetta, the group chiefly recognized for creating the theme to Angel, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off. Remaining active in the band at the time, he produced his debut solo album, 14 Rounds With the Killer Blondes, largely by himself before its 1999 release. Markedly removed from the abrasive goth rock of Darling Violetta, the noticeably poppier and more progressive-leaning 14 Rounds With the Killer Blondes—evoking the King Crimson-meets-Barclay James Harvest vein—echoes both 1960s European film soundtracks and the more melodic passages in Frank Zappa’s work.
