Biography
Formed in New York City, Automatic Slim brings together bassist Richard Valdmanis, drummer Walker Pettibone, and singer/guitarist Gelu Sulugiuc. The trio’s singular chemistry stems directly from their separate national backgrounds, with Valdmanis coming from Canada, Sulugiuc from Romania, and Pettibone from the United States. In summer 2002 the group issued its debut album, Daisy Cutter. Valdmanis later departed, and Greta Brinkman assumed the bass chair for the 2005 release Automatic Slim.
