Biography
Avernessus, the Latin rock outfit originating from the Canary Islands, came together in 1996 through the combined efforts of drummer Fernando Ayut, bassist Yosé Fernández, singer and guitarist Paco Hernández, and saxophonist Tito Castaqueda. Their first shows took place the following year in tandem with Estado Vegetal and Vaticano Boyz. Singer and guitarist Sergio Rodríguez along with drummer Jonás Sánchez came aboard later. The refreshed roster soon secured a slot at the established local event Encuentro Independiente Canario. After Fernández and Castaqueda departed, German Ramírez took over on bass.
