Biography
Though the term Avichi might initially suggest an upscale Italian pizza garnish, the name actually functions as the solo project identity of Aamonael, a solitary black metal force and cursed resident of Dekalb, Illinois. Aamonael recorded every instrument and vocal line himself for the project's debut full-length, 2007's The Divine Tragedy, enlisting only Matt "Xaphar" Block for the drumming duties. Setting aside any levity, the record delivers first-rate American black metal and signals a bright trajectory for Avichi going forward.
