Biography
In 1973 the jazz-rock ensemble Ayers Rock assembled in Melbourne, Australia. Its roster comprised drummer Mark Kennedy together with Ray Burton, Russell Dunlop, Chris Brown, Jimmy Doyle, Doug Gallacher, Col Loughman, and Duncan McGuire. After completing a U.S. tour that ran from 1975 through 1976, the band dissolved. Chris Brown and Jimmy Doyle subsequently revived the project under the original name, sustaining live activity as Ayers Rock into the early 1980s.
