Ayshea

Origin: U.S.A
Listen on Coda
Born in England, Ayshea issued her debut single ‘Eeny Meeny’ on Fontana Records in 1965 while still only sixteen. After transferring to Polydor Records and marrying its staff producer Chris Brough, she put out further teen-pop releases including ‘Celebration Of The Year’ and ‘Taking The Sun From My Eyes’. Her self-titled debut album appeared in 1970. Regular slots on her own children’s television programme Lift Off With Ayshea made her a familiar presence through the early 1970s. In 1974 her third label, DJM Records, released an album of the same name. She also supplied backing vocals for Wizzard on Top Of The Pops, which prompted speculation of a romantic connection with Roy Wood.
