Biography
B Boys emerged as a Brooklyn-rooted indie trio whose taut, jittery approach evokes the late-1970s post-punk touchstones Wire and Gang of Four. Landing on the Captured Tracks roster, the group delivered two albums that highlighted its terse, sharp-edged approach: Dada in 2017 and Dudu in 2018.
The lineup came together in 2014 when Britton Walker (vocals/guitar), Brendon Avalos (vocals/bass), and Andrew Kerr (drums) began sharpening their material through local New York performances and home-studio demos. One early recording, “Other Head,” reached Captured Tracks and prompted the band’s signing in 2015. Its first EP, No Worry No Mind, arrived in March 2016. Following an extended run of dates with Parquet Courts, the trio unveiled its debut full-length, Dada, in 2017. Issued in 2019, the follow-up Dudu further refined the group’s jagged guitar lines, intricate grooves, and off-kilter reflections.
