Bay Area rapper BabyFace Gunna launched his career under the wing of Mozzy, a central figure in Sacramento’s thriving rap community. After initial guest spots, he shifted swiftly into his own mixtape output, drawing notice through sharp, unsparing lyrics and relaxed delivery on cuts such as “30k Bars” and on the 2017 project Baggage Claim. A steady stream of videos and tracks built his profile, most notably with the single “You Don’t Want These Problemz,” which surpassed one million streams within months.

Hailing from Sacramento’s Oak Park neighborhood, BabyFace Gunna linked with Mozzy around 2017 and appeared on the label compilation Mozzy Records Presents: Baggage Claim. Later that same year he dropped two projects of his own, Child of Da Trenches and Ham & Chee$e, issued only months apart. Many of those recordings featured fellow Mozzy-affiliated rappers including ShooterGang JoJo, Bussdown Bandy, and Celly Ru. Additional singles arrived in 2018, among them the SOE Sosa collaboration “Movin’ Mean” and “I Be on It” with Young Mir. That summer he unveiled the track and video “All Day” ahead of the six-song joint EP Brothers Upon the Streets, recorded with Tona Da Owna and released shortly afterward.
