Biography
Banda MS, otherwise identified as Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga, originated in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, as a regional Mexican ensemble performing in the banda tradition. The collective came together in 2003 and features more than a dozen players, most prominently vocalists Oswaldo Silvas and Alan Ramirez along with tuba specialist Sergio Lizárraga. Their first full-length release arrived in 2004 under the title No Podrás. Later projects followed with Mi Mayor Anhelo in 2006, La Raza Contenta that same year, and Escuela de Rancho in 2008. The fifth effort, En Preparación from 2009, proved their biggest success yet by yielding the international smash “Sin Evidencias,” which climbed to the Top Ten on the Billboard Latin Songs chart and the Top Five on the Regional Mexican Songs chart.
