Biography
Barbara Fasano, a native of Long Island, has received recognition across her professional path for her performances in cabaret. Raised in New York, she completed a theatre degree at Hofstra University. Fasano devoted multiple years to living and working overseas, among them a three-year period in Australia during which she took on acting roles, taught theatre, and co-produced the ARIAs music industry award show. After returning to the United States she settled in Los Angeles, where she began performing cabaret, created an original show in the form, and appeared in film and television. In 2000 she issued the album The Girls Of Summer, drawn from her well-received cabaret production of the same name. The recording presented her versions of songs by a varied group of writers that included Stephen Sondheim, Bruce Springsteen, Irving Berlin, and Cyndi Lauper, and it drew positive attention that featured some of its highest praise from the Village Voice.
