Born in Jamaica, West Indies, O’Hare began his professional life in the late 1980s as an apprentice studio engineer at Carl Young’s Grove Music Recording Studio in Ocho Rios. Quickly demonstrating aptitude, he supported Courtney Cole in dual roles as engineer and session musician, contributing to recordings by Prezident Brown, Tony Rebel, Jack Radics, Yusus Afari and Brushy One String. Beyond local successes, his work extended internationally through sessions with Third World and Burning Spear; the latter connection endured when he remixed three volumes of the Living Dub series using a 1990s aesthetic.

As his career advanced, O’Hare expanded into composing, producing and providing backing vocals. After gaining experience at Courtney Cole’s Roof International, he launched his independent X-Rated record label in the early 1990s, enlisting Carl Nelson as a collaborator. Breakthrough releases followed in 1992 with Yammie Bolo’s “Joe The Boss” and “Be Still,” while 1995 saw the arrival of Mikey Spice’s debut album Happiness alongside Tanya Stephens’ Big Things A Gwaan. He later partnered with Michael “Mighty Mike” Johnson, the well-known Irie FM disc jockey, resulting in continuous-mix albums that incorporated radio jingles performed by leading Jamaican artists. O’Hare has sustained his commitment to emerging talent, achieving notable results with Daweh Congo, Determine and Harry Chapman.
