Biography
Swing-era vocalist Barry Wood shared a family tie with bandleader Barney Rapp, though his own path opened as a sideman for Buddy Rogers. After Rogers declined to feature him as a singer, Wood departed to front his own orchestra and ultimately secured a steady slot on the Lucky Strike Hit Parade Radio Show. The single "Ev'rybody Ev'ry Payday" brought him chart success, yet he soon stepped away from music to pursue television production. Wood died in 1968.
