Bart Kaell entered the world as Bart Gyselinkck in Oudenaarde during 1960 and later trained in music at Antwerp after establishing himself as a Flemish vocalist and broadcast host. He made two failed attempts to become Belgium’s Eurovision entrant, achieving third place in the 1983 Eurosong selection with “Symphonie” and second place with “Carrousel” at the next contest four years afterward. While his music profile grew through the hits “Ik Vlieg” and “Eenzaam Zonder Jou,” Kaell simultaneously pursued television work by fronting the Flemish editions of Stars in Their Eyes (Soundmixshow) and Wheel of Fortune (Rad van Fortuin). His twenty-fifth anniversary in the business was marked in 2008 by a compilation that entered the Top Ten.
