Barzaz

Among the most groundbreaking ensembles hailing from Brittany, Barzaz fashions unmistakably Breton music by means of instruments imported into the local scene. Jean-Michel Veillon's wooden flute, Gilles Le Bigot's guitar, Alain Genty's fretless bass, and David Hopkins' bamboo flutes and percussion supply an ideal contrast to Yann-Fanch Kemener's vocals, the sole genuinely traditional element in the band's sonic identity.
