Biography
Batimco derives its moniker from the percussion instruments known as bata, timbal, and conga. David Frazier handles those three plus bongo within the sextet, whose sound balances adventurous impulses with fairly accessible qualities and whose lineup further features Jorge Sylvester on alto and soprano, Martin Cuevas on tenor and flute, keyboardist Glenn Pearson, bassist Rob Holland, and drummer Bran Kirk. Batimco recorded for J&N in 1992.
