Biography
By the mid-1990s the glam metal landscape suffered a sizable void once Axl placed Guns N' Roses on indefinite hiatus, yet several similarly styled acts moved to occupy the space, among them the Phoenix rockers Beat Angels, who formed in 1994. The quintet consisted of guitarists Michael Brooks and E. Keith Jackson, bassist Tommy Caradonna, vocalist Brian Smith, and drummer Frankie Hanyak; for the Epiphany label they issued two late-'90s recordings, Unhappy Hour With... in 1996 and Red Badge of Discourage in 1997, the latter produced by former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke.
