Biography
J.A. Ziemba, a Chicago singer and songwriter who once fronted the indie rock bands Wolfie and the Like Young, shapes detailed pop compositions that fuse garage rock’s raw edge with the Beach Boys’ melodic sensibility. Six months after his divorce, he launched Beaujolais, first turning to the project as a place to process feelings and later as a channel for the range of emotions left by the split. Parasol Records issued the resulting album Love at Thirty in 2008, a work that followed the failed relationship from its cordial start to its unavoidable finish.
