Beber & Tamra formed as an English breaks act centered on vocals, achieving their first major club success via the 2001 debut release “Travelling On.” The pair consists of producer Kevin Beber and singer Tamra Keenan; Beber had already established himself during the nu-breaks wave of the 1990s, most prominently through his work with Adam Freeland under the Tsunami One moniker and through his co-production of two notable cuts—“Madskillz-Mic Chekka” and “The Hip Hop Phenomenon”—on BT’s 1999 album Movement in Still Life. After launching their joint project with “Travelling On,” the duo issued the follow-up single “You Wonder” and delivered their first full-length effort, Suite Beat Boy, on Mob Records in 2002. The single’s momentum and the album’s reception led to a Glastonbury Festival appearance that same year. They subsequently paused their collaboration for five years to focus on individual projects, resurfacing in 2008 with the album Killa Rockin Bird and another slot at Glastonbury.
