Biography
Before the Rain began as a Portuguese acoustic duo in 1997 before expanding into a five-piece doom and gloom metal ensemble. The group issued its earliest recording, the demo ...And With the Day Dying Light, in December 2001. Founders Carlos D'Agua and Valter Cunha endured repeated turnover among bassists, guitarists, and drummers, delaying any official release until the lineup achieved a measure of stability in 2008. That same year the band had already signed with Major Label Industries and delivered its debut album, ...One Day Less. Recording sessions for the follow-up project resumed at the outset of 2008.
