Biography
Hailing from Oakland, California, the grindcore band Benumb first surfaced in the mid-1990s, unleashing a rapid succession of recordings that consisted chiefly of split singles and EPs made with such groups as Apartment 213, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Supression and Short Hate Temper. After entering into a recording agreement with Relapse, the outfit delivered the Gear in the Machine EP in 1997, and the full-length Soul of the Martyr appeared the following year. Withering Stands of Hope arrived in 2000.
