Biography
Bengt Hallberg stands among Sweden's foremost jazz pianists, having cut his initial trio sessions at the age of seventeen. During the fifties, his collaborations included work alongside Lars Gullin and Arne Domnerus, as well as visiting American musicians such as Clifford Brown, Stan Getz, and Quincy Jones. From 1956 to 1963 he served in the Swedish Radio Big Band, yet despite strong demand for his compositions in film and television, he persisted in performing jazz part-time, frequently alongside Domnerus and Karin Krog, while directing most of his recordings toward Swedish imprints like Metronome, Sonet, and Phontastic.
