Biography
Bentwood Rocker came together during 1978, issuing their debut album Not Taken the following year. Tim Campbell, who supplied vocals and guitar, departed after the band signed to Quality in 1981, leaving the group to proceed with Eric Baragar handling vocals, guitar, and keyboards, Mike Goettler on vocals and bass, Steve Smith covering vocals, drums, and keyboards, Dan Thompson on vocals, guitar, and percussion, plus Barry Haggarty as the new addition. This same lineup captured Take Me to Heaven on record in 1982. One year afterward Bentwood Rocker adopted the name the Press in connection with Second Wind, and the Press soon morphed into 98.6.
