Biography
In the closing years of the 2000s, Betty and the Werewolves arrived on the scene bearing a sweet, fiery, gritty indie pop sound that recalled the work of Talulah Gosh, Lung Leg, and Dolly Mixture. Laura Wolf (Laura McMahon), Emily Wolf (Emily Bennett), Helen Wolf (Helen Short), and Sir Dancelot Douglas Wolf (Doug McFarlane) assembled the quartet in 2008, and it swiftly cultivated a devoted audience among indie pop aficionados through the power of its live performances, a thrilling debut single, and a contribution to the soundtrack of Giles Borg's independent film 1234. Damaged Goods issued that first 7" single, Euston Station, in the summer of 2008. David Cassidy followed as a single in February 2009 and appeared on Rough Trade Shop's Indiepop '09 collection. After performing at Indietracks 2010, the band unveiled its debut album Tea Time Favourites in July of that year.
