Beyond Reason

In 1992 guitarist Greg Kidd teamed with vocalist Steve Leighton to launch Beyond Reason. The following year the group cut its first album, A World of You, and issued it independently on Laughing Cat Records. Completing the blues-tinged pop/rock lineup are drummer Roland Krueger, bassist Steve Mead, and Tom Coolidge, whose contributions span guitar, flute, keyboards, and vocals. Leighton and Kidd supply most of the songs heard both onstage and on disc, among them the selections that appear on Stompin' the Blues. Over the years the band has opened for such acts as Lowen & Navarro and Savoy Brown. Although each member juggles family life and regular employment, the musicians still carve out time to perform at benefits for organizations including the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition, The Peabody House, the Ryan White Foundation, and similar causes.
