Biography
Beyond the Embrace emerged from New Bedford, MS, blending classic heavy metal with modern elements like death-metal growls and thrash tempos layered across their distinctive three-guitar formation. The six-piece lineup of vocalist and keyboardist Shawn Gallagher, guitarists Oscar Gouveia, Jeff Saude, and Alex Botelho, bassist Adam Gonsalves, and drummer Mike Bresciani launched its career via the 2002 Metal Blade release Against the Elements and quickly earned the tag “Iron Maiden on speed.” Their 2004 follow-up, Insect Song, marked the arrival of replacement drummer Kevin Camille while longtime bassist Gonsalves exited the group.
