As a writer and producer, Gianluca Buccellati has delivered striking, widely praised material through partnerships with Arlo Parks and Lana Del Ray. Issuing multiple EPs as Bien et Toi, he has continued to showcase his rising abilities.

Born in Katonah, New York, and later relocating first to Brooklyn and then Los Angeles, Buccellati immersed himself in music from an early age, beginning to compose tracks and team up with peers during his late teens and early twenties. After earning a degree from the Berklee College of Music, he briefly led the band Bear Language alongside fellow students and joined another classmate, Tei Shi, on her initial recordings. He also headed the bi-coastal synth outfit White China together with his brother Sanj and guitarist Aaron Bernards.

Gaining major-label engineering experience on Lana Del Ray’s Lust for Life, Buccellati went on to accumulate production credits alongside indie-leaning acts such as Biig Piig, Paris Texas, and Declan McKenna. His standout partnership came with Arlo Parks, the folk-R&B performer whose 2021 debut album, Collapsed in Sunbeams, ranked among England’s most celebrated first releases. Serving as a central collaborator who co-wrote and produced nearly every song, Buccellati shared in that year’s Mercury Prize, a BRIT Award nomination for Album of the Year, an Ivor Novello Award nomination for the track “Black Dog,” and a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album.

In the year that followed, he issued London Safari, the debut EP under the Bien et Toi name, which included the joint singles “Rainbow Tables” (featuring Biig Piig) and “4AM” (featuring sophie meiers). The more electronic Voici arrived the next year without any featured artists. London Safari II appeared in 2024, emphasizing soul textures and spotlighting “Signs,” a duet with singer Halima that stands as Bien et Toi’s most-streamed recording to date.
