Biography
Born in Dallas, Texas, the hardcore Chicano rapper Big Geminii—also known as Gemini and Big Gemini—broke through via the crossover pop-rap singles “Crazy for You” (2003), which showcased MC Magic’s vocoder crooning, and “Hypnotized” (2007); both tracks registered on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40. His full-length efforts, beginning with the 2001 debut 6:16 the Genesis and continuing with Product of Pain (2003), remained largely confined to regional audiences, although Universal later acquired the “Crazy for You” single from the second album. In 2006 he joined Playa Rae and Fade Dogg to form the supergroup the Gamebreakerz, whose album Texikali appeared on Houston radio DJ Mista Madd’s Paid in Full imprint. Airplay for “Hypnotized” the following year cleared the path for his third LP, History in the Making (2008).
