Biography
Guitarist Big Gilson and pianist Alan Ghreen operate as acoustic bluesmen from Brazil and belong to the Brazilian band Big Allanbik while also issuing recordings under their own names. An exploratory visit to America, aimed at studying blues figures ranging from Professor Longhair to Lightnin' Hopkins to Jerry Lee Lewis, prompted their return to Rio de Janeiro with fresh resolve, where they captured a blues album amid calmer conditions. The outcome, Yellow Mojo Blues, surfaced on TopCat in 1998.
