Bike

Auckland, New Zealand guitar-pop outfit Bike was fronted by singer/guitarist Andrew Brough, whose earlier work came during his time with Straitjacket Fits. In 1995 he assembled the lineup alongside bassist Tristan Mason and drummer Karl Buckley; once the trio secured a deal with Flying Nun, they released their first single, "Save My Life," the following year. That track brought a Most Promising New Band nomination at the NZ Music Awards and placed the song among the finalists for APRA’s Silver Scroll songwriting prize. The self-titled debut album appeared in 1997, after which the group returned two years later with Take in the Sun.
