Best remembered for portraying young Will Robinson in the television classic Lost in Space, actor, musician, and writer Bill Mumy entered the world on February 1, 1954, in San Gabriel, California. His small-screen journey began at age five with a guest role on the series Riverboat, after which he accumulated appearances across numerous shows, among them The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. He made his feature-film bow in 1960’s The Wizard of Bagdad and later took parts in 1963’s A Child Is Waiting and 1965’s Dear Brigitte. That same year he joined the cast of Lost in Space, staying with the cult favorite until production wrapped three years later.

Turning toward music in 1970, Mumy launched the satiric duo Barnes & Barnes alongside Robert Haimer; ten years afterward the pair achieved peak recognition through their widely aired video for “Fish Heads,” a fixture on MTV during its formative period. In 1991 he received an Emmy nomination for composing the score of the Disney series Adventures in Wonderland. Together with fellow actor Miguel Ferrer he assembled the rock group the Jenerators, which released its self-titled debut album in 1994; the pair also teamed on several comic-book projects, including The Comet Man, The Dreamwalker, and Trypto, The Acid Dog. Between 1991 and 1993 Mumy penned a comic series drawn from the original Lost in Space. From 1993 to 1998 he rejoined weekly television as a regular on the science-fiction series Babylon 5. His first solo record, Dying to Be Heard, surfaced in 1997, followed two years later by In the Current. Pandora’s Box appeared in 2000, and After Dreams Come True arrived in 2001.
