Biography
Having performed since childhood, Billie Joyce nevertheless waited until 2002 to enter a studio and cut her debut album, Love Tone. At seventeen the gifted vocalist joined a country rock band for a North American tour. Romance developed on the road, drawing her to Thunder Bay, Ontario, where she took work as a prison guard and as a counselor in a battered women’s home while still hoping to advance her music career. A subsequent move to Nashville, Tennessee, yielded a set of bluesy rock songs shaped by her own life and the lives of those she met through those unusual jobs. In the studio a new band assisted her in laying the tracks down. Love Tone reached stores in summer 2002 and was followed by a nationwide tour.
