Biography
Francis Mark, the frontman of From Autumn to Ashes, launched Biology during 2004. For the project’s first Vagrant release, the 2005 album Making Moves, he recruited FATA bassist Josh Newton and Engine Down drummer Cornbread Compton to form the rhythm section, yet his ambitions stretched past conventional band work toward elaborate stage productions and a fluid roster drawn from fellow artists and collaborators. Throughout September and October 2005, Biology shared stages with From Autumn to Ashes and Armor for Sleep. Early the next year Compton stepped away to pursue other personal endeavors, prompting Hot Rod Circuit drummer Dan Duggins to join and maintain simultaneous commitments to both groups.
