Biography
Bishop Reilly unites roots rock songwriters Jeff Bishop and Robert Reilly in a creative partnership. The pair, longtime friends and veterans of the East Coast rock club scene during the 1990s and 2000s, first encountered each other in Pennsylvania when Earth to Bob and 78 West shared a bill. Their paths intersected repeatedly over time, deepening both their friendship and mutual regard. As Earth to Bob wound down, Reilly asked Bishop to contribute guitar to his initial solo albums. Growing reliance on each other's abilities eventually led them to form the duo Bishop Reilly, with Bishop serving as producer and instrumentalist alongside Reilly's role as singer and songwriter. The self-titled debut, issued on their independent Eastern Records imprint in 2015, presents a warm blend of heartfelt Americana and roots folk. Reilly's soulful vocals and the duo's command of studio craft and songwriting anchor the material.
