Black Cat Bones

Formed in London toward the end of the 1960s, the blues-rock outfit Black Cat Bones began with guitarist Paul Kossoff, bassist Stuart Brooks, and drummer Simon Kirke. Once Kossoff and Kirke departed to establish Free, Brooks assembled a new lineup that included vocalist Brian Short, guitarist Derek Brooks, guitarist and vocalist Rod Price, and drummer Phil Lenoir. That configuration recorded the band’s sole album, Barbed Wire Sandwich, in 1970, a release that has undergone several reissues in the digital era.
