Biography
Black Eyed Soul's members trace their origins north of the Mason-Dixon Line even though the group draws from classic Southern roots rock and Americana traditions. Founder and lead vocalist Andrew Marcus, a New York native, partnered with Boston-born Misty Dureault. Their shared enthusiasm for alternative country and roots rock led the pair to begin recording. The self-titled debut arrived in 1999, followed in 2001 by Thinking of a Brick Wall. Lineup changes eventually settled into a stable configuration featuring bassist Joel DelCarvo and drummer Mr. Pink. Alien Peep Show appeared in 2002 and contained "Stutter," the band's take on the well-known Kiss track; its popularity prompted Gene Simmons to post the song on the group's official website. Black Eyed Soul still tours throughout the United States and plays at numerous showcases and festivals.
