Biography
In 1991, ex-Britny Fox vocalist Dean Davidson assembled this American hard rock quintet. Bassist Erik Levy, guitarists Rick Criniti and Tony Santoro, and drummer Chris Branco rounded out the lineup, which promptly secured a Mercury Records deal. The group’s debut album, Electric Rattlebone, delivered a blues-rooted batch of hard rock tracks that nodded evenly to Aerosmith, Humble Pie, Cinderella, and the Rolling Stones. Although the songs lacked originality, they were performed with real conviction. Frequently likened to fellow retro-rock act the Black Crowes, the band has yet to match that group’s commercial reach or artistic impact.
