Biography
During the 1970s, funk outfit Black Heat existed only briefly while cutting limited material for Atlantic. Keyboardist Johnell Gray, guitarist Bradley Owens, bassist Chip Jones, and percussionist Raymond Green delivered one LP on the label that featured an assortment of guest stars including David "Fathead" Newman. Their solitary single, "No Time to Burn," entered the R&B Top 50.
